Workshop feedback

Who better to invite to South Africa other than Gunther Wegner to join forces in presenting workshops as a team? Yes, that is the guy who developed the software which we all need to edit our timelapse shots - LRTimelapse!

Gunthers’ interest in timelapse photography started not so long ago and LRTimelapse was founded in 2011. Once he started shooting timelapse it soon became evident that the processing is going to be a different story all together. Not wasting anytime to fuss around and struggling to put sequences together, he developed this amazing software himself.

Since then many improvements have been made to the software, trying to keep it as user friendly as possible, providing excellent results given the fact that you shoot right too! Even some BBC photographers / filmmakers have used his software. Check out the recent documentary “Wild Arabia”.

Our first evening talk, an introduction to timelapse and LRTimelapse at Outdoorphoto was maxed out with interested people hungry to learn something about timelapse and how to edit it. What an awesome venue and thanks for your great customer service to the entire ODP team!

Next up was the full day workshop, again at Outdoorphoto in Pretoria. This was a much more comprehensive and in depth workshop focusing on how to shoot timelapse correctly and how to process it for ultimate results. There was also a hands on demo on how to shoot motion controlled timelapse by using various products such as the Shukuma DOLLY and pan-tilt heads. The smell of fried brains started to fill the air as the day progressed! Now it’s up to all inspired and eager participants to get practical ;-)

Two days later we were at PhotoHire in Cape Town for another full day workshop. We had another bunch of really enthusiastic people with a whole lot of questions. We really maxed out the day and everyone wanted to learn as much as possible, especially since they could ask Gunther and myself questions face to face!

While having the opportunity to be in Cape Town there are definitely a few “activities” that you just HAVE to do. Wine tasting being top of the list of course! So we spent two days to explore, taste wine (a lot), taste chocolates and cheese, and even went up to Table Mountain! God bless our awesome friends, Frans & Christien, who were kind enough to host us during our stay. Having a chauffeur while visiting various wine farms is certainly a must!

Like with all good things, we have to return to reality at some point :-/

To summarize our workshops, LRTimelapse is a must for all timelapse editing! And, if you buy it via TimeLapse SA you will get some discount :-D Just make sure you use TLSA as the coupon code when purchasing the software or any other 3rd party item from the site.

Special thanks to everyone who attended and also for the venues. A big thank you to Gunther Wegner for visiting us in South Africa and joining us on a timelapse safari to Namibia, as well as hosting the workshops with us!!
